Position Summary ThePatient Services Representative, Authorizationsis responsible forobtaining prior authorizations for all procedural orders by successfully completing the authorization process with all payers. Performinsuranceverification process. Obtain initial andsubsequentpre-authorization for services. Ensureappropriate signaturesare obtained on all necessary forms. Regular authorizationsfollow-upto obtain insurance determinationsin a timely manner. Processing prior authorizations andauthorizationappealsas necessary. Provide customer service support and build relationships with wound care consultants and other teammates. Dispatch set-ups, pick-ups, and other tasks to field teammates. Schedule oxygen concentrator and controller set up and delivery as well as product shipments. Medical codingandbillingfor all thirdpartyand direct claims. Reviewing claims for accuracy before submission. Maintainaccuratedata and reference data inGoCanvas, third-party billing,andin-houseERP systems. Help train new hiresonprocess and procedures within the department. Maintaintraining toolsand develop new training toolsasneeded. Cross-trained incollectionstofollow up on unpaid claims. Demonstrate an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and corporation. Respondsin a timely mannerto all inquiries from customers, sales reps, and co-workers. Assistsand communicates with all departments to help increase efficiency and accuracy. Performs all other duties assigned Qualifications & Skills High School diploma or equivalent required, Bachelors in related field preferred. Position requires at least 3 years of medical office/provider/billing/collectionswork experience with insurance procedures. Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal.Proficiencywithcomputer,internetand Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel). Experience with multiple payor portals a plus.
