Occupational Therapist PRN

Overview Job Title: Occupational Therapist (PRN) – Outpatient Location: BSWH The Plaza, College Station, TX Department: Occupational Therapy - Outpatient Shift: PRN Variable – anticipate a regular schedule of 2-3 days per week; hours will vary Experience: Must have OT certification with at least 2 years of orthopedics; age range adolescents to geriatrics. Experience with splint fabrication, rotator cuff repairs, shoulder replacements, elbow and hand evaluation, and related treatments is desired. The Occupational Therapist PRN plans, organizes, and provides professional services in restorative, functional and preventative therapeutic programs to patients. Clinical practice includes evaluation and occupational therapy treatment planning to facilitate rehabilitation of the mental, physical or emotional disabled person. Works closely with patients and family to establish and meet treatment goals. This need is for the College Station Hospital. Essential Functions Evaluates, treats and monitors patient. Modifies therapy program and goals. Performs thorough and concise clinical documentation in a timely manner. Enters charges accurately. Communicates effectively with patients and families, departmental coworkers, and members of the medical care team. Provides education to patients, family and staff. Supervises ancillary staff, students and volunteers. Advances clinical skills through ongoing education, literature review and implementation of evidence-based practice. Imparts knowledge to develop the clinical skills of colleagues. Adheres to organizational, national, and state regulatory guidelines. Maintains awareness of system goals. Aligns personal goals and work activities to uphold or impact the system goals. Key Success Factors Must possess excellent social relation skills, including strong oral and written communication. Demonstrates aptitude in assigned areas as specified for each clinician. Exhibits face-to-face leadership and delivers excellent customer service to patients, visitors, physicians and coworkers. Proficient computer knowledge; operates multiple computer systems and standard rehabilitation equipment. High attention to detail in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. EDUCATION — Masters’ or Bachelor’s plus 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification EXPERIENCE — Less than 1 Year of Experience CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION — Occupational Therapist (OT); Basic Life Support (BLS) required or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
