RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT:

Job Summary: This is a field-based leadership role requiring daily, bags-on involvement in building and quality control. Job location: San Francisco Bay Area Job Type: Full-time Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year Key Responsibilities Project Management & Leadership Oversee multiple projects or large, complex builds with subcontractor coordination Supervise and mentor Lead Carpenters and field crews. Plan and manage schedules, inspections, permits, and site logistics. Lead weekly site meetings and coordinate with Project Managers, clients, architects, and designers. Maintain proactive communication with all project stakeholders. Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Scheduling & Coordination Schedule and direct subcontractors, suppliers, surveyors, and engineers. Plan 1–4 months ahead and manage long lead-time items. Order materials accurately and control jobsite workflow. Resolve field issues with clients, inspectors, and neighbors. Provide labor and material estimates for change orders. Quality Assurance & Control Enforce company quality standards and jobsite safety requirements. Inspect work regularly to ensure adherence to plans and specifications. Identify and correct deficiencies in subcontractor and crew performance. Maintain organized, safe, and professional job sites. Lead by example in craftsmanship, accountability, and safety. Advanced Carpentry & Technical Skills Expert ability to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings. Advanced skills in concrete forming, framing, finish carpentry, and complex layouts. Proficient in stair building, custom woodwork, and detailed interior/exterior finishes. Ability to create field details and redline plans for constructability. Maintain a complete toolset, truck, and required equipment. Qualifications Extensive residential construction and supervisory experience Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Professional working proficiency in English (writing & speaking) Advanced carpentry expertise and problem-solving ability Commitment to quality, safety, and professional standards Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Physical Demands & Work Environment This role requires the ability to perform physically demanding construction work in active jobsite environments, with reasonable accommodations available as required by law. Employees must be able to stand, kneel, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and use hands and arms for prolonged periods throughout an 8-hour workday. Regular use of hand tools, power tools, ladders, and scaffolding is required, as well as the ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds. The position also requires clear communication, strong situational awareness, and vision sufficient for close, distance, and depth perception tasks. Work is performed on active construction sites with uneven terrain and mandatory use of personal protective equipment. The environment is often loud and involves working closely with others, exposure to physical hazards, heavy equipment, and construction materials. Employees may experience varying weather conditions, dust, fumes, and other jobsite elements, including exposure to materials and chemicals regulated by the State of California.
