Senior Project Manager, Practice Builder - Water/Wastewater

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager, Practice Builder - Water/Wastewater to lead complex infrastructure projects and help expand a growing technical practice. This role is suited to an experienced water and wastewater professional who combines strong project delivery capability with commercial awareness, client relationship skills and a passion for developing high-performing teams. You will manage projects from early strategy and planning through design, approvals, procurement, construction support and close-out, ensuring work is delivered safely, sustainably, on time and within budget.


Key responsibilities will include leading multidisciplinary teams; preparing scopes, fee proposals, budgets, schedules and risk registers; overseeing technical quality and project controls; and maintaining clear communication with clients, contractors, regulators and other stakeholders. You will identify opportunities, contribute to business development and support the preparation of submissions and presentations. As a practice builder, you will help shape market strategy, strengthen client relationships, mentor project managers and technical staff, and contribute to recruitment, resource planning, processes and continuous improvement. The role may involve managing several concurrent projects across water supply, wastewater collection and treatment, asset renewal, utilities, hydraulic modelling and related infrastructure.


Applicants should have a relevant tertiary qualification in civil, environmental or water engineering, or a closely related discipline, together with substantial experience delivering water and wastewater projects. Professional registration or chartered status is desirable, as is experience with relevant design standards, regulatory requirements, contract administration and project management methodologies. You will bring demonstrated success managing scope, budgets, schedules, quality, safety and risk, along with the ability to develop practical technical solutions and make sound commercial decisions. Excellent written and verbal communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership skills are essential. Experience building a service line, winning work and developing teams will be highly regarded. A collaborative, proactive approach and willingness to support clients and colleagues across a broad range of projects are expected.
