Automotive Sales Manager Auffenberg of Carbondale — Carbondale, IL Full-Time | Management Auffenberg of Carbondale is looking for an experienced Automotive Sales Manager to join our leadership team. We are looking for a hands-on manager who can help lead the day-to-day operation of our sales department. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working deals, developing salespeople, solving problems, and taking ownership of results. This is not a position for someone who wants to simply supervise the floor. We are looking for a working Sales Manager who can make decisions and help run the business. What You'll Do * Desk and structure new and used vehicle deals * Work directly with salespeople to improve closing ratios and gross profit * Coach, train, motivate, and hold the sales team accountable * Assist with used vehicle appraisals * Monitor leads, appointments, follow-up, and showroom activity * Help manage daily sales activity and dealership processes * Work closely with F&I to maximize opportunities while maintaining a great customer experience * Handle customer questions and assist in closing difficult deals * Help maintain proper inventory focus and merchandising * Participate in sales meetings and performance reviews * Help create a positive, competitive, and accountable sales culture What We're Looking For Automotive management experience is strongly preferred. The right candidate should be comfortable: * Desking deals independently * Structuring deals for both profitability and approval * Appraising trades * Coaching and developing salespeople * Working internet leads and appointments * Handling customers and closing deals * Managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced dealership * Holding people accountable while maintaining a positive work environment Experience as a Sales Manager, Desk Manager, General Sales Manager, F&I Manager, or experienced automotive sales professional with leadership experience will be considered.
