About the Position
We are seeking Nurse Practitioners to provide overnight hospitalist coverage in a critical access hospital setting. This is an ongoing locum tenens opportunity with potential for long-term or full-time-to-permanent placement for reliable providers.
Coverage includes adult inpatient nighttime responsibilities, including admissions, cross-coverage, care planning, and discharge management. Providers must be comfortable working independently overnight .
Schedule Details:
- Night shifts: 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM
- Initial coverage need: March 28–29 (orientation on March 27)
- Ongoing night coverage thereafter
- Open availability strongly preferred
- No on-call responsibilities
The practice setting is a non‑interventionist critical access hospital with no ICU . Onsite respiratory therapy support is available. No procedures are required ; intubation experience is preferred but not required.
This opportunity seeks 2–3 consistent locum APPs to provide recurring night coverage.
Requirements
Certified Nurse Practitioner
Active Vermont license (required)
Acute Care certification preferred
Ability to work independently overnight
Experience in adult inpatient hospital medicine
Comfortable managing admissions, cross‑coverage, and discharges
Intubation experience preferred but not required
Temporary privileges available
