Service Delivery Manager – Special Education (Leadership & Provider Development) Boothby Therapy Services Remote/Hybrid throughout Maine with regional travel as needed. Salary : $87,000–$93,000 annually Bonus : Up to $5,000 annually Full-Time | Year-Round Position Lead Special Education Excellence Across Schools and Providers Boothby Therapy Services (BTS) is seeking an experienced Special Education professional to join our team as a Service Delivery Manager (SDM). This is a unique leadership opportunity for someone who combines deep special education expertise with a passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing others. Unlike traditional district leadership roles, this position allows you to stay connected to service quality, provider development, and school partnerships while helping shape systems that improve outcomes for students across multiple districts. You will serve as both a manager of Special Education Teachers (SETs) and a subject matter expert for our broader Service Delivery team. When complex special education questions arise, you will be the person colleagues turn to for guidance. What You’ll Do Provider Coaching & Performance Development Directly manage and support a caseload of Special Education Teachers. Conduct structured coaching meetings, professional development conversations, and performance reviews. Provide hands‑on support through school visits and collaborative problem‑solving when needed. Identify provider strengths, development opportunities, and performance concerns, then implement targeted support plans. Monitor service quality, provider satisfaction, and key performance metrics. Special Education Leadership & Consultation Serve as the internal special education expert for Service Delivery Managers across disciplines. Consult on IEP implementation, service delivery models, coaching strategies, and school partner concerns. Develop tools, resources, and best practices that strengthen BTS's Special Education line of business. Help colleagues without special education backgrounds confidently support SETs and navigate complex situations. Contribute strategic insight regarding quality standards, placements, and service expansion. School Partner Management Build trusted relationships with school partners and district leaders. Present data and recommendations professionally and confidently. Proactively identify risks to partner satisfaction and provider success. Coordinate special requests, Extended School Year (ESY) services, and unique placement needs. Operational Leadership Monitor provider utilization and service delivery targets. Maintain accurate caseload documentation and reporting. Produce utilization reviews and operational reports. Coordinate provider coverage and continuity planning. Hiring & Talent Development Participate in interviewing and assessing provider candidates. Support onboarding and placement coordination for new hires. Mentor peers and contribute to a collaborative leadership culture. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education. Minimum of 5 years of school-based special education experience. Deep understanding of IEPs, eligibility processes, service delivery models, and special education law. Demonstrated experience coaching, mentoring, supervising, or developing adults. Ability to explain complex special education concepts to professionals from different backgrounds. Strong organizational, communication, and relationship‑building skills. Comfortable supporting multidisciplinary teams, including SLPs, OTs, PTs, and other related service providers. Experience working independently and managing competing priorities. Willingness to travel up to approximately two hours for school visits and provider support as needed. Available year‑round, including summer months. Preferred Qualifications Experience as a Special Education Coordinator, Department Head, Director of Special Education, or similar leadership role. Experience with educational staffing, therapy services, or contract‑based school support models. Familiarity with special education regulations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, and/or Vermont. Additional certifications such as BCBA, CAGS, ATP, or related credentials. Experience with CRM, workforce management, or case management platforms. Why Join Boothby Therapy Services?
