Cardiovascular Technologist I- PRN

Job Overview Under limited supervision, the Cardiovascular Technologist I assists physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease in an invasive procedure arena. The role specializes in caring for patients undergoing basic diagnostic catheterization and interventional procedures and serves as a resource to staff. Responsibilities Perform scrub duties and related procedures for cardiac interventions, left and right heart catheterization with no assistance. Perform scrub duties and related procedures for peripheral diagnostics or interventions with minimal assistance. Scrub, gown, glove and set up the back table with necessary equipment. Record cardiac interventions, left heart catheterization and hemodynamics with accuracy; monitor the procedure and document inventory used and order of events in the MacLab event log. Maintain ECG setup and rhythm monitoring. Maintain basic hemodynamic setup and waveform monitoring. Assist in preparation of the room with fellow staff members for safe and effective patient care. Perform required checks on all safety equipment. Ensure adequate supplies are present to perform procedures. Transport patients alone or accompanied by a fellow staff member. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. 0–6 months of experience or equivalent education/experience. Graduation from an accredited Invasive Cardiovascular Technology program, or equivalent education and/or experience, and RCIS, RCES, CEPS, or RT(R)CI certification required. Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) required within the first 2 years of hire; ARRT and South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association licenses also required if applicable. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within three months of hire and thereafter maintained. Telemetry and arterial/venous sheath removal experience preferred. Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted; ability to perform fine and gross motor tasks and work in confined spaces.
