Position Snapshot

• Employment type: 1-year contract (W-2)
• Work arrangement: Remote, with some travel across North America
• Reporting: Onsite Manager
• Scope: Own substation projects from early development through construction and commissioning

What You’ll Do

• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to identify, develop, and secure substation sites; gather data and permits necessary to engineer and build the substation.
• Provide training, due diligence, and technical oversight of external Engineers of Record (EOR) to ensure alignment with generation interconnection agreements, SOWs, project specifications, site-specific requirements, and all relevant standards (IEEE, NESC, ASCE, and other industry codes).
• Represent E&C interests and enable cross-functional success; deliver progress updates, articulate issues, and outline risk mitigations to multiple management levels.
• Support Transmission Services in reviewing interconnection documentation—system impact, facility, reactive, and harmonic studies, plus interconnection agreements—ensuring Transmission Owner requirements and E&C engineering design are consistent, ISO-compliant, and embedded in the design.
• Assist ISC with SOW creation, reviews, approvals, and preparation of shopping carts for engineering services and materials.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural Engineering (preferred)
• 7+ years in high-voltage substation design/engineering (helpful)
• Experience in Project Engineering/Project Management; PMP or P.E. in a related field (helpful)

Compensation & Benefits

• Base pay range: $70.00/hr to $94.00/hr (dependent on experience, qualifications, and skills)
