Mechanical Designer

PAY RANGE: 95-115K base plus benefits Medical Dental Vision Holiday Pay PTO 401K Our manufacturing and equipment fabrication client is looking for a Mechanical Designer to join their engineering team. In this role, you will translate engineering specifications, customer requirements, and conceptual sketches into detailed, production-ready drawings and models. You will collaborate daily with engineers, fabricators, and assembly personnel to ensure designs are accurate, practical, and delivered on schedule. Assignments are varied and technically complex; day-to-day work is largely self-directed and subject to peer review as part of our standard quality process. A background in manufacturing environments is essential, and hands-on familiarity with process piping, structural steel, bases, or sheet metal fabrication is a strong plus. Key Responsibilities Develop 2D and 3D models using CAD software Produce customer-facing and internal layout drawings Create piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) Generate fully dimensioned shop drawings for fabrication, including all views required for accurate part production Prepare general assembly drawings Develop as-built documentation; field-verify dimensions against physical equipment as needed Coordinate with cross-functional teams to confirm manufacturability and tolerance feasibility Create and maintain part numbers, bills of materials, and associated specifications Contribute to the design development of new product concepts What Success Looks Like Projects are delivered on time, within budget, and fully meet design requirements Production rework attributable to design errors is minimized Parts are identified and procured early, reducing expediting and last-minute delays Drawing quality improves equipment delivery performance over time Qualifications Certificate or associate's degree from a technical drafting or engineering technology program (2-year preferred) 4 or more years of relevant design or drafting experience Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks Experience producing fabrication drawings in accordance with ASME/ANSI standards Familiarity with manufacturing processes including sheet metal fabrication, machining, and casting Averro is an equal opportunity employer.
