Job Title Meat Clerk Reports To Meat Manager Help guests bring home high-quality cuts they’ll feel proud to serve. In this role, you’ll provide top-notch service at the meat and seafood counter, restock and rotate product on the sales floor, and help keep our department running smoothly. From special orders to food safety standards, you'll play a key role in creating a department guests trust and return to again and again. What You’ll Do Deliver Helpful Service Provide exceptional guest service at the meat counter and on the sales floor, including fulfilling special orders and answering product questions. Maintain fresh, well-stocked displays by inspecting, rotating, and replenishing meat products and supplies. Honor Commitments Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences. Collaborate with the Team Perform other duties as assigned. What We’re Looking For Strong Communication Skills Ability to effectively engage with guests, leaders, and retail sales associates. Utilize strong written and verbal skills to work with a crew in a fast-paced environment. Food Safety A willingness to learn food safety standards, proper equipment usage (like slicers), and inventory practices. Ability to Multitask and stay customer service focused in a busy retail grocery environment. Safety Mindset An understanding of safety and food safety practices and a commitment to following them. This role requires proper training and knowledge of equipment and procedures, including slicers, proper lifting techniques, trash compactor, baler, etc. Physical Demands and Work Environment Stand in one place for a long period of time, bend, stoop, and kneel regularly Full range of upper body motion Lifting up to 80 pounds on an occasional basis Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures such as freezers, coolers, kitchens, and sales floor Repetitive motion of hands and wrists Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Work Schedule This is a part-time or full-time position with varying shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Weekly Pay & Premium Pay Hourly associates are paid weekly, providing more frequent access to their funds. Part-time store associates are paid a $1 premium per hour on Sundays and select holidays.
