Senior Backend Engineer

Joining a high-impact team, the full-time Senior Backend Engineer will architect foundational security and identity services for healthcare technology while leading the transition to a modern Identity and Access Management platform in a remote environment. Key responsibilities Own the core services for authenticating entities within the ecosystem, balancing scalability and session revocation Define fine-grained authorization strategies across a multi-tenant hierarchy of organizations and locations Manage infrastructure for enterprise integration, including federated identity and secure machine-to-machine communication protocols Required qualifications 5+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly in building distributed systems using Go Deep understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms such as OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, and JWT Proven ability in system design, managing complex data migrations, and building gRPC-based microservices Exceptional written communication skills, particularly in creating Technical Design Documents for cross-team collaboration Experience with zero-trust security principles and familiarity with Zanzibar-style authorization or SpiceDB
