Injection Molding Maintenance Technician

Description:

The primary responsibility of the Mold Maintenance Technician is to execute the day to day maintenance and repair requirements as set forth by the Director of Molding and Mold Manager.

Plans and directly manages all predictive and preventative maintenance related activities for all equipment in the mold department.(Mold presses, Robots, laser systems, ancillary equipment)

Responsible for coordinating and/or executing the repairs for all mold department equipment.

Assists Mold Manager with monitoring the company’s safety policies, 5S controls and operating procedures in the mold department.

Assists in the coordination of facility related repairs within the multiple mold department areas.

Is a management advocate of TS16949 quality system and its practices and principals as directed by the company.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plans, schedules, executes and tracks all predictive maintenance activity for all equipment in the mold department.
• Determines and maintains critical spare inventory for all mold equipment.
• Responsible for diagnosing faulty mold department equipment in a timely manner, contacting external repair services as necessary, coordinate getting repair quotes. Is main point of contact for all external repair/service requirements.
• Ensures all safety equipment and alarms in each mold area are in place and functional on a daily basis.
• Assists in the coordination and execution of facility related repairs within the multiple mold areas.
• Assist the Mold Manager with promoting the principals of TS16949.
• Assist the Mold Manager with supporting and enforcing departmental and corporate policies and standards.

Qualifications :

• 8-10 years of relevant maintenance experience in an Injection Molding facility.
• Excellent mechanical skills
• High attention to detail and organized approach to work
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic on injection molding machines.
• Be a self-motivated individual with positive attitude
• Gets along with others and has the ability to communicate instructions in a clear and pleasant manner
• Be able to successfully complete tasks with minimal supervision
• Ability to lift up to 65 lbs, stand for long periods, and tolerate a manufacturing floor environment.
