Certified Medical Assistant - Orthopaedics Work Arrangement: On-Site Requisition Number: 269616 Regular or Temporary: Regular Location: Raleigh, NC, US, 27609 Date: May 4, 2026 JOB LOCATION: Duke Orthopaedics of Raleigh - 3480 Wake Forest Rd, Raleigh, NC JOB SUMMARY: A nonexempt position responsible for performing a variety of duties depending on whether it is a small clinic, large medical practice, multi-clinic, or a specialty office. Responsibilities may include clinical support, patient care, and administrative tasks. Benefits: $7,500 Commitment Bonus & $2,000 Relocation Assistance for qualifying candidates! JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Rooming patients, collecting histories, charting, answering phone calls, completing forms (Patient Care Responsibilities) Prep clinics, obtain test results, update charts, verify insurance, obtain authorizations, coordinate referrals and appointments (Clerical Duties) Clean exam rooms, order and restock supplies, maintain safe work environment (EOC Responsibilities) Promote patient rights, respond to emergency codes, follow HR, Compliance and Joint Commission policies (Organizational Duties) Perform autoclaving, check vital signs, suture removal, dressing changes, enter orders per physician protocols, manage biohazard waste, blood drawing, apply DME (State‑law duties) Other duties as assigned by manager or HCA Develop skills for cast removal, basic splint application, and fit all DME products (as assigned by clinic leadership) JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: One year of Ortho experience preferred Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program (CAAHEP or ABHES) strongly preferred High school or GED graduation required Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required BLS required Level I – no experience required Level II – 1 year of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant, certified in a clinical setting EEO Statement: Duke is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to providing employment opportunity without regard to an individual's age, color, disability, gender, gender expression, gender identity, genetic information, national origin, race, religion, sex (including pregnancy and pregnancy related conditions), sexual orientation or military status. #J-18808-Ljbffr
