Learning & Development Manager

As a Learning & Development Manager at Shook Construction, you'll help build the future of our workforce by developing the knowledge, leadership capabilities, and career growth opportunities that enable our employees to succeed. From onboarding new team members to strengthening leadership pipelines and supporting career development pathways, your work will have a direct impact on employee engagement, readiness, and organizational performance.In this role, you'll partner closely with your Human Resources teammates, Operations, Safety, business leaders, and subject matter experts to design and execute learning strategies that align with Shook's business goals. And because giving back is central to who we are, you’ll have the chance to make a meaningful impact through community service and our Mission, “To Dramatically Improve the Communities We Serve.”Benefits That Make a DifferenceCompetitive compensationPaid time offHealthcare, vision, and dental plansRobust wellness programRetirement savings programTuition reimbursementParental leaveWhat You’ll DoLearning Strategy & Organizational DevelopmentDevelop and implement learning and development programs aligned with business goals.Assess training needs and identify development opportunities across the organization.Evolve career development pathways and learning resources for employees.Monitor industry trends and recommend innovative learning solutions.Leadership DevelopmentManage and enhance leadership development programs.Support succession planning and leadership pipeline development.Partner with leaders to strengthen leadership capabilities across all levels.Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and development programs.Learning Systems & Program ManagementOversee the Learning Management System (LMS) and related learning tools.Track participation, completion rates, and learning outcomes.Measure program effectiveness and recommend improvements.Maintain learning records, reports, and compliance-related training requirements.Content DevelopmentDesign and develop engaging learning materials and resources.Partner with subject matter experts to create relevant training content.Leverage technology and AI tools to enhance learning experiences.Ensure training materials remain current and effective.Employee DevelopmentSupport onboarding and early career development initiatives.Collaborate with HR and business leaders to improve employee growth and retention.Assist with mentoring, coaching, and professional development programs.Promote a culture of continuous learning throughout the organization.Physical and Work ExpectationsFacilitate in-person and virtual training programs.Travel to offices, jobsites, and company events as needed.Occasional overnight travel may be required.Comply with all company policies and safety requirements.What You’ll BringBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business, Construction Management, or a related field.Master's degree preferred.Experience managing leadership development programs and learning initiatives.Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design.Experience administering a Learning Management System (LMS).Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.Excellent organizational, project management, and relationship-building abilities.Construction industry experience preferred.Computer SkillsProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Experience with Learning Management Systems and digital learning platforms.Certificates, Licenses, and RegistrationsValid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
