JOB DESCRIPTION:TheTeam leadsrole is toguide a teamofpeer/BHTstaffto achieve specific goals andobjectives.This includes organizing work, delegating tasks, motivating team members, andfacilitatingcommunication.They also play a role in problem-solving, performance management, and fostering a positive team environment. In addition, the Team Leaderis responsible forthedaily supervision ofthepeer support/BHTteam,ensuringall processes and procedures are followed. Duties include but are not limited to assistingtheteaminsupporting theindividualsin treatment, managingcompliancetothe dailyscheduleand monitoring the safety of all residents.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Knowledge of rules and guidelines of the recovery center de-escalation techniques.
  • Lead thePeerSupport/BHTstaff and promote a team environment.
  • Implement processesand procedures specific tothe peer support/BHTdepartments.
  • Assures compliance with established protocols, policies and procedures andidentifiesopportunities to update existing practices and policies.
  • Responsiblefor performing routine and random audits ofdocumentationto support quality and consistency.
  • Help break down barriers of experience and understanding, as well as power dynamics that may get in the way of working with other members of the treatment team.
  • Walk with people on their recovery journeys; dispel myths about what it means to have a mental health condition or substance use disorder.
  • Assistpeople with finding and following their own recovery paths, without judgment, expectation, rules, or requirements.
  • Mentorsnew peers and BHTs on therole andmonitorboundary concerns.
  • Facilitate theselectionof weekly peer mentors.
  • Establish presence andperformroutine rounds inside and outside ofbuilding.
  • Help transport patientsor retrieve facility goodsin OVP Health vehicles when needed.
  • Facilitates peer groups and completes all documentation.
  • Assistswith assignments foraccompanyingappointments.
  • Coordinates outside meetings and community involvement.
  • Assistsin monitoringofresident12-stepmeetingto ensure effectiveandappropriate discussions.
  • Facilitates store run and ensuresaccurateordering and receiving.
  • Monitors complianceofroll call andpatient monitoring.
  • Assistswith distribution of daily assignments.
  • Works in collaboration with the leadership team to communicate anyconcerns or barriers.
  • Communicateswithteamin a manner that supports growth and development.
  • Attends weekly supervisionmeeting.
  • Monitors distribution ofsurveysto gaugesatisfactionof the residents.
  • Ensures coordination of weekly graduation ceremonies.
  • Assists theSupervisor with job performance evaluations and coaching ofthe team.
  • Is responsible for oversight of thepeer support/BHTdepartmentin the absence of theSupervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must haveHighSchool Diploma or GED.
  • 2-3 years of experience withinpersonalrecovery model.
  • Ohio Peer Support Specialist Certification
  • CPR/BLS Certificationrequired.
  • Ability toutilizeindividual and group skills.
  • Strong knowledge of local community behavioral health services.
  • Wellness Recovery Action Plan Certification preferred.
  • Experiencein leadership is preferred.

  • Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and assumption of responsibilities not delineated in the job description.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Responsible for oversight of thepeersupport/BHTdepartmentin collaboration with theSupervisor.
