Senior Counsel - Private Funds

Our client is a well-known hedge fund.
Job Description
- Provide legal guidance on the development, structuring, and launch of private funds, including both open- and closed-end funds.
- Advise on compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to private funds within the financial services industry.
- Draft, review, and negotiate fund documents and other related agreements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address legal and regulatory matters.
- Support the legal department in advising on governance and operational matters.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations and ensure the company's compliance with these changes.
- Provide strategic legal advice to senior management and other departments as needed.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external counsel and regulatory authorities.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Senior Counsel - Private Funds should have:
- JD from a top US law school.
- Admission to NY Bar in good standing.
- 10+ years of experience gained at a top big law firm and/or in-house, with experience developing, structuring, and launching private funds (whether open- or closed-end), as well as familiarity with relevant portions of key investment management laws and regulations.
- Significant experience in developing, structuring, and launching private funds.
- Expertise in legal and regulatory matters within the financial services industry.
- Strong ability to draft, review, and negotiate legal documents.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to navigate complex legal and regulatory frameworks.
