The Shipping Clerk plays a key role on our supply chain team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of outgoing shipments in a cold warehouse distribution environment. Working collaboratively with fellow Shipping Clerks, you will verify orders and manage shipment documentation to support efficient delivery processes utilizing various systems such as Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Yard Control Systems, and Dispatch Systems. You will communicate and work closely with management and union representatives to ensure smooth operations. Precision and adherence to established supply chain protocols are critical in this role.

This role requires working in a low temperature warehouse setting and involves administrative and coordination tasks. Prior experience in shipping and warehouse operations, with a strong understanding of logistics and documentation standards is required. The ideal candidate is a reliable team player with excellent organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to accuracy and efficiency.

• Review shipping invoices and orders to ensure accuracy before fulfillment
• Retrieve products from inventory based on order specifications
• Package products securely to prevent damage during transit
• Print and apply accurate shipping labels to outgoing packages
• Work efficiently in a cold warehouse environment
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shipping area
• Collaborate closely with other Shipping Clerks and warehouse staff
• Use shipping software and systems to process and track orders
• Report any discrepancies, damages, or delays to the supervisor
• Follow all safety guidelines and cold storage handling procedures
• Assist with inventory checks and stock rotation when needed

What You Will Bring:
• High School diploma or GED
• 12 months of warehouse experience in warehouse setting
• Organizational skills
• Good understanding of warehouse safety regulations
• Computer capability skills (Microsoft Word, Excel) and knowledge of data entry and inventory software programs
• Basic math skills
• Basic knowledge of warehouse operations. Demonstrate people skills. Good communication skills

The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include, but are not limited to, responsibilities of the role, Starting pay is $21/hr.

This position will be on-site at the Giant Food Distribution Center in Jessup, MD. The days off will be Sunday and Wednesday. Shift time starts at 3am.
