Sterile Processing Tech Houston Physicians Hospital is hiring a PRN Sterile Processing Tech to provide professional nursing care through assessment, planning, treatment and evaluation of the patient. The SPD Tech is responsible for delivering safe, knowledgeable, compassionate, educative and individualized nursing care to patients and families. Qualifications High School diploma or GED required. Computer skills, required. CRCST or CSPDT certification preferred. Six months of experience preferred. 1-2 years experience as Instrument Room Technician preferred. Experience with all types of sterilizers. Knows operating room instrumentation. Organized the setting up of the operating room instrument tray. Understands operation of steam/ gravity sterilizer. Understands Sterrad sterilizers. Ability to prepare reports and keep records. Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required. Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed.
