Job Responsibilities of the Orthodontist:

Examine, diagnose, and treat dental malocclusions and oral cavity anomalies
Design and fabricate appliances to realign teeth and jaws to produce and maintain normal function
Develop treatment plans based on patients’ health histories and diagnostic reports
Coordinate orthodontic services with other dental and medical services
Adjust dental appliances periodically to produce and maintain normal function
Provide patients with proposed treatment plans and costs
Use diagnostic procedures, such as radiographs (X-rays), cephalometric films, and computer tomograms, to aid in understanding and addressing dental conditions
Record patient treatment and progress, including the size and position of the teeth and jaw

Minimum Job Requirements:

Orthodontist Residency Certificate
Accredited Dental School Graduate
Current OR state dental license or the ability to acquire one
