Embedded Software Engineer I

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of embedded applications and network configurations for current and future Axon products.
• Implement reliable, high-performance features and enhancements in C/C++, Go, or Python.
• Write and maintain unit, integration, and system-level tests.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, technical problem solving, sprint planning, retrospectives, and release cycles.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Design, Firmware, and Cloud Engineering teams.
• Debug and resolve issues across embedded devices, networking layers, and supporting systems.
• Learn and apply modern open source tools and frameworks relevant to embedded systems.

Requirements

• Requires 1–3 years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in at least one of C/C++, Go, or Python.
• Professional experience working with Linux-based systems.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.
• Exposure to embedded devices and networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, or VPN is a plus.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, collaboration, and willingness-to-learn skills.
