Job Summary Custodians are responsible for general housekeeping and sanitizing in various areas on campus including classrooms, offices, residence halls, athletic facilities, and grounds. Salary Range: $18.00 Main Duties & Responsibilities Restroom and Shower room cleaning Carpet Maintenance Trash Removal Dusting Snow Removal Operation of floor machine for refinishing or buffing of floors as needed Wall Washing Bleacher Setup Changing of Light Bulbs Other duties as assigned Qualifications Experience and Education Requirements Custodial experience in a school or multi-building office/commercial space preferred Valid driver’s license preferred Essential Knowledge & Skills Develop and maintain a good working relationship with students, faculty and staff at all levels of the university Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and work well in a team environment Be able to climb and work from ladders and lifts Have the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular basis; up to 50 lbs. on occasion Have the ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, kneel, squat, pulling, reaching and spend majority of shift on your feet Observe safety guidelines and follows procedure established by the university Be able to work nights and weekends if position requires it Be able to work outside in the elements year-round Physical Demands Light work. Light work involves lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Even though the weight lifted may be very little, a job is in this category when it requires a good deal of walking or standing, or when it involves sitting most of the time with some pushing and pulling of arm or leg controls. To be considered capable of performing a full or wide range of light work, you must have the ability to do substantially all of these activities.
