It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Reporting to a Correctional Lieutenant III and/or Correctional Housing Unit Manager III this position is responsible for assisting the
Correctional Lieutenant and/or in the supervision of Correctional Officers at a medium and close custody institution. Job responsibilities include; but are not limited to, the following: - Supervising Correctional Officer III's in a close-custody institution with restrictive and controlled housing.
- Assigning lower-level custody staff to a particular area or post, arranging work schedules to ensure shift coverage, implementing operational procedures, and ensuring rules and regulations are followed according to policy.
- Overseeing officer activities/performance and ensuring that the custody, security, and welfare of offenders are maintained. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Salary Range: $41,206 - $72,113 This job posting will close at 11:59 pm, the night before the end date listed above.
