Cost Accountant

Cost AccountantThe Cost Accountant is responsible for overseeing, analyzing, and validating cost expenditures and reduction initiatives within the plant. Review manufacturing process activities; record and validate data; make recommendations about cost-efficient and financially feasible cost options.Primary Responsibilities:Analyze manufacturing activities and document/validate changes in process to determine what effect it has on the costAnalyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costsProvide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect product profitabilityWork with CI/process teams to drive continuous improvementAnalyze and recommend cost and cost savingsMonitor the inventory cycle count adjustmentsPrepare and complete internal cost audits according to GAAPMaintain accuracy in the (SAP/ERP) systemCost savings from improvement initiativesSpeed and accuracy of plant profitability driversAccuracy in cycle count adjustmentsPlant performance leading indicatorsAccuracy in program profitability (Burden model)Education and Qualifications:Bachelor degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience; CPA or MBA preferred2+ years of cost accounting work experience (essential)Knowledge of SAPKnowledgeable on statisticsMeet key competencies for the jobProficient in using Microsoft Office suiteAnalytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skillsMeticulous attention to detail with strong organizational skillsAbility to meet strict deadlinesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to understand the manufacturing processExcellent report-writing, communication and IT skillsGood understanding of costing principles and systems
