Job Description
A Physical Therapist Assistant plays a critical role in supporting physical therapists in providing rehabilitation care to patients. Working within a small team, they assist patients through therapeutic exercises, monitor progress, prepare treatment equipment, and ensure safety compliance. This role involves frequent travel to off-site sessions and requires collaboration with healthcare professionals to deliver effective general rehabilitation services. The Physical Therapist Assistant operates independently with oversight from a Physical Therapist.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises to support rehabilitation goals
- Monitor and document patient progress during treatment sessions
- Prepare and maintain physical therapy equipment for daily use
- Educate patients on exercise techniques and safety precautions
- Collaborate with physical therapists and team members within a small team setting
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and treatment protocols
- Support treatment plans by demonstrating exercises and providing guidance
- Travel frequently to provide off-site patient care services
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience working as a physical therapy assistant
