Perform imaging procedures in at least two modalities according to departmental guidelines Obtain patient histories and educate patients and families about procedures, treatment, risks, and prevention Position patients and perform radiographic procedures with independent judgment Evaluate images for technical quality and produce high-quality diagnostic images Prepare, clean, adjust, inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain imaging equipment Prepare and maintain accurate documentation and archive imaging data Collaborate with physicians and other medical professionals Perform modality-specific CT, mammography, MRI, diagnostic/X-ray, ultrasound, or nuclear medicine procedures Prepare, administer, and monitor IV contrast, sedation, radiopharmaceuticals, and related patient care as applicable Maintain infection prevention, radiation safety, regulatory, and hospital standards Monitor department workflow and inventory to prevent service interruptions Participate in education, orientation, mentoring, in-service training, and professional development Report safety incidents and complete mandatory training and job-specific modules Requirements Associate's Degree / Associates of Applied Science or other related fields Alternatively, accredited MRI program; AMA-approved Nuclear Medicine Technology Program; or accredited School of Ultrasonography Minimum 1 year experience as imaging technologist Experience in an acute care setting preferred National registry in a minimum of 2 modalities: X-ray, CT, US, MRI, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, or IR Fingerprint Clearance Card application number required upon hire Fingerprint Clearance Card required within 90 days of hire BLS (American Heart Association) required Current ARRT certification required for Diagnostic/X-ray Arizona Department of Health Radiology Technologist license ARRT CT or qualifying experience for Arizona CT licensure required AZDHS Certified Radiologic Technologist and CT required Current Mammography Technologist registry required, with ACR certification criteria and AZDHS Mammography certification Current ARRT registry in MRI required ARDMS required with at least two specialties for Ultrasound RVT preferred NMTCB and/or ARRT(N) required for Nuclear Medicine Computer literacy and competence using basic software programs Must maintain appropriate clinical competencies and valid certifications/licenses Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in performing imaging procedures across multiple modalities, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
