Role Details

• Location: Remote (Anywhere in USA) - must be able to support PST hours
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM PST
• Contract Duration: 2 months contract
• Pay Rate: $123/hr on W-2 ONLY ; may be higher for exceptional candidates
• Experience Required: 8+ years of technical accounting experience
• Core Expertise: ASC 606 / Revenue Recognition

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Technical Accounting Consultant with deep expertise in ASC 606 and revenue recognition . This role will focus on developing and maintaining technical accounting policies, documenting complex revenue arrangements, and translating accounting requirements into scalable operational processes and internal controls.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting judgment, excellent documentation skills, and the ability to independently lead complex projects while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.Key Responsibilities

• Author and consolidate authoritative technical revenue accounting policies , with a focus on ASC 606 .
• Draft, update, and document complex revenue structures and technical accounting conclusions .
• Develop a formal B2B reserve policy addressing credit risk, bad debt, and contractual allowances.
• Translate complex technical accounting requirements into scalable operational guidance and internal controls .
• Partner with accounting, finance, audit, and other cross-functional teams to ensure policies can be effectively implemented and executed at scale.
• Independently lead technical accounting projects from analysis through implementation.
• Prepare clear, well-supported documentation suitable for audit review .

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of technical accounting experience .
• Strong expertise in ASC 606 / Revenue Recognition .
• Demonstrated experience authoring and implementing technical accounting policies .
• Experience analyzing and documenting complex revenue arrangements .
• Ability to translate technical accounting requirements into operational accounting processes and controls .
• Strong project leadership and ability to work independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Big Four accounting firm experience .
• Experience managing or supporting external audits .
• Experience with B2B revenue models, credit risk, bad debt, and contractual allowances.
• Strong experience operating in complex, high-growth or large-scale business environments.
