An established hospital in Southwest Florida is seeking a skilled Emergency Medicine Physician to join their collaborative emergency department team. Located just 30 minutes from the beautiful coastal city of Punta Gorda, this position offers exceptional earning potential up to $430K annually as a permanent 1099 contractor. Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available for board-certified or board-eligible emergency medicine physicians.

Position Overview

This Emergency Room Physician role provides an excellent opportunity to deliver high-quality emergency medical care in a moderately-sized facility serving approximately 15,000 annual patient visits. Work 12-hour shifts in a supportive hospital environment that prioritizes patient outcomes and physician satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries
• Perform emergency procedures including trauma stabilization, resuscitation, and critical care interventions
• Diagnose and treat a diverse range of emergency conditions across all age groups
• Collaborate with nursing staff, specialists, and hospital administration to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the hospital's electronic medical record system
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency department protocols
• Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans and follow-up care
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced emergency department environment while maintaining clinical excellence

Required Qualifications

• Medical Degree: MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Board Certification: Board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine with emergency department experience
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Medicine experience in a hospital setting, or recent residency graduates welcome
• Licensure: Active or eligible for Florida Medical License
• Required Certifications: ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Strong clinical decision-making and diagnostic skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Meditech EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system
• Previous experience in community hospital emergency departments
