Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year in a similar setting License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience with patient ratios of 1:5 - Experience in cardiac telemetry, neuro, renal, and pulmonary care Description: Nurses on this unit care for adult patients who are acutely ill with a wide variety of medical problems. The patient population includes cardiac, neuro, renal, infectious disease, and pulmonary issues. As a registered nurse, you will be accountable for the coordination of direct patient care and education. You will be responsible for managing various medical procedures and patient assessments. Teamwork and collaboration with interdisciplinary support services are essential. The unit accepts first-time travelers, and weekend shifts will be required every other Saturday with Sundays off. A zero-tolerance policy for THC is in effect, and medical marijuana cards are not accepted. Fit testing is required for compliance; an exemption requires documentation from a provider. Travelers should expect to work during holidays based on the number of holidays in the assignment. Previous charge experience is preferred along with familiarity with charting systems. The ability to manage and interpret telemetry and cardiac drips is necessary for this role. Responsibilities include the care and management of various treatments and medical devices.
