For students, for future generations, for the future of education.What You'll ContributeThe Engineer II will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting modern technology solutions that enable critical business capabilities across loan servicing and enterprise operations. This role combines software engineering, business process understanding, and emerging technology expertise to deliver scalable, maintainable, and efficient solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and engineering teams to develop applications, APIs, business rules, and automation capabilities that improve operational effectiveness and customer outcomes.What You'll DoDesign, develop, test, and support applications and services using Python, SQL, and related technologies.Partner with business analysts and stakeholders to understand business processes, requirements, and operational objectives.Develop and maintain API-based integrations using MuleSoft and related integration technologies.Design and implement business rules and decisioning solutions using modern rules platforms such as Camunda, Drools, or similar technologies.Build, maintain, and optimize database solutions, queries, and data processing capabilities to support operational and analytical workflows.Leverage AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies to improve development efficiency, operational effectiveness, system intelligence, and business outcomes.Participate in software design sessions and contribute to architecture decisions that support scalability, maintainability, and long-term business objectives.Support Agile delivery teams by participating in sprint planning, backlog refinement, development, testing, and production support activities.Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes utilizing Azure DevOps and associated development tools.Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while identifying opportunities for process automation and system improvements.Develop and maintain technical documentation, solution designs, data flows, and operational support procedures.Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and operational standards while delivering technology solutions.The above information is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this job; it is not designed to contain or be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities and qualifications required of employees in this role.What You HaveMinimumBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.4-7 years of experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise applications and integration solutions.Strong experience developing applications using Python and SQL.Experience designing, developing, and consuming RESTful APIs and service-based architectures.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand both technical and business requirements.Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex application and production support issues.Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Experience working across the full software development lifecycle from requirements through deployment and support.Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to emerging technologies and development practices.PreferredExperience with MuleSoft development and enterprise integration patterns.Experience working with rules engines and decisioning platforms such as Camunda, Drools, DMN, or similar technologies.Experience developing with AWS Cloud and Infrastructure as Code.Experience applying AI-enabled development tools, machine learning capabilities, or intelligent automation solutions within business processes.Experience working in financial services, banking, lending, or student loan servicing environments.Knowledge of event-driven architectures, messaging platforms, and modern cloud-native design patterns.Experience with Snowflake, data engineering, data pipelines, or analytics-focused development.Familiarity with domain-driven design, business process modeling, and workflow automation concepts.Experience supporting highly regulated environments and associated compliance requirements.Feeling your best helps you do your best:Our benefits take care of the whole you—so you can build your work around your life (not the other way around!).Competitive base salaries Bonus incentives Generous PTO, Floating Holidays and 12 Federal Holidays observedSupport for financial-well-being and retirement 401k with employer matchComprehensive medical, dental, vision, hospital indemnity, critical illness, pet insurance and moreEmployer paid short-term/long-term disability and basic life insurance Flexible hybrid working arrangements.Paid parental leave and adoption reimbursement programsFree access to on-site staffed fitness centers (in Delaware) and gym subsidy (for locations outside Delaware) Confidential counseling support (EAP), Health Advocacy services and Wellness program with financial incentivesTuition Reimbursement and Family Scholarship ProgramsCareer development and training opportunitiesNot the right fit?
