Travel RN - Neonatal ICU

American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a Level 4 Neonatal ICU position at an acute care, Level 1 trauma facility in Arizona, requiring a minimum of 3 years of NICU experience and active NRP certification. Requirements Active AZ RN license or Compact (NLC) license — must be active at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted Minimum 3 years of NICU experience required Minimum 2 years of Level 4 NICU experience required Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and Cardiac STABLE Plus — all must be active; pending certifications not accepted Prior travel nursing experience preferred Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as verified by driver's license Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire Copy of driver's license required for consideration Responsibilities Level 4 NICU in an acute care, Level 1 trauma hospital setting 71-bed NICU unit, including 17 stepdown beds and 4 private rooms Patient population includes premature infants and neonates with cardiac defects, genetic disorders, surgical needs, ECMO, and therapeutic cooling Patient ratios are 1:2 for ICU-level patients and 1:3 for Level 2 patients Charting system: Cerner 12-hour day shifts, 7am–7pm Every 3rd weekend required (4 total weekend shifts per 4-week period) Holiday coverage required for 3 of 6 major holidays Floating may be required to Mother Baby or Labor & Delivery (babies only) Philips telemetry equipment used; ventilators managed by Respiratory Therapy Neonatologist and midlevels available in-house 24/7 RT and NICU pharmacy support available on-site On the first day of orientation, all RNs must pass a hands‑on SIMs Lab assessment covering Foley catheter insertion; the assessment is pass/fail, and maintaining sterile field is critical to passing RNs must also pass the Relias Dysrhythmia exam before an offer can be confirmed Orientation includes additional education on lifts, restraints, and wound care Floor‑specific orientation is 2–3 days on the unit Charge nurses have no patient assignment and serve as a high‑risk RN resource; one PCT is available per shift Scrub color: Navy Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part‑time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates placed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered Previous travel nursing experience is preferred but not required to apply Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts #J-18808-Ljbffr American Traveler
