Job Title
Perform routine maintenance on facilities and grounds including carpentry, plumbing and electrical repairs.
Job Description
Maintain and repair HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical and security systems. Maintain and repair physical structures as needed. Use power tools and other departmental equipment to perform basic carpentry, electrical, mechanical, air conditioning, plumbing and/or other repairs and maintenance. Inspect facilities, equipment and grounds for necessary repairs, improvements or preventative maintenance. Maintain accurate records and inventory control/Receiving Reports. Perform janitorial duties on the grounds and in the facility. Perform duties as assigned by the work order(s) received. Comply with all safety standards. Perform other duties as assigned. HEALTH DEPARTMENT ONLY May be required to work a non-traditional work schedule to include evening, holidays and weekends and may be subject to 24 hour on-call status. Respect clients by recognizing their rights and maintaining confidentiality, including HIPAA requirements. Protect self, co-workers and consumers by following policies and procedures to prevent the spread of blood borne and/or airborne diseases.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of North Slope Borough organization, operations, policies and procedures.
Education, Experience, Certifications and Licenses Required
High school graduate or G.E.D/ or, a combination of 12 years of education and related work experience. Two years of combined work experience in carpentry, mechanics, electrical, and plumbing; Valid Alaska Driver's License that meets the North Slope Borough insurance criteria. Ability to pass FBI fingerprint background check within 60 days of hire. (Police only) HEALTH Department ONLY Applicant must pass a criminal history background check conducted by the State of Alaska Background Check Unit; Documentation that the individual is free from active pulmonary tuberculosis.
