Inspector

Seeking Residential Roof Inspectors to complete on-site property inspections in and around Goodland, Kansas. This 1099 independent contract position involves documenting observable roof, exterior, and interior conditions through detailed photographs, measurements, and digital inspection reports that support property and insurance claim evaluations. Flexible schedule, supplemental income. 

Pay starts at $125 per inspection

Scope of Work

• Accept inspection assignments based on availability and complete site visits within agreed service windows.
• Conduct roof, exterior, and interior observations according to assignment requirements.
• Safely access roofs with a ladder and appropriate safety equipment when required.
• Capture clear, comprehensive photos of relevant property conditions, including ground-level, roof-level, and interior images.
• Record measurements, observations, and supporting documentation using a smartphone, camera, and digital reporting platform.
• Upload complete inspection data and photos through the designated mobile app platform.
• Communicate professionally with property owners, occupants, and project contacts while on site.
• For drone-based assignments, perform aerial image capture in compliance with applicable FAA requirements.

Deliverables, Timeline & Success Criteria

• Completed digital inspection report for each assigned property, including required photos, measurements, and condition documentation.
• Accurate, organized image uploads that clearly support the inspection findings.
• Timely completion of accepted assignments; specific due dates and turnaround expectations will be provided per project.
• Success is measured by complete documentation, clear photo quality, accurate reporting, adherence to safety and submission requirements, and professional communication throughout the assignment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with residential property inspections, roofing, construction, restoration, or related fieldwork is preferred.
• Ability to safely climb ladders, access roofs, and work outdoors in varying conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to document observable conditions accurately.
• Proficiency with smartphones, mobile apps, cameras, and digital reporting tools.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout the local service area.
• Ability to independently manage assignments, scheduling, and reporting deadlines.
• Professional communication skills for customer-facing site visits.
• For drone inspection assignments: current FAA Part 107 certification and access to a suitable drone.
