Registered Nurse – IMC / PCU / Stepdown (Neurology & Neurosurgery Mixed Acuity)

Contract (13 or 26 week options available) | Night Shift | 4x12 Hours (19:00–07:30) | 36 or 48 hour per week options | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 48-bed mixed acuity unit specializing in Neurology and Neurosurgery, including patients with strokes, aneurysms, seizures, spinal fusions, brain and spinal cord tumors, and other neurological conditions
• Manage patient assignments across Medical Surgical/Telemetry and Stepdown levels; MS/Tele night ratios up to 1:6 (rarely 1:7), Stepdown ratios 1:3–4
• Administer and monitor IV drips as required across all floors
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
• Float within scope of practice to meet facility staffing needs across multiple units, including potential float to an additional campus
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team including CNAs, care techs, transport team, paramedics/swoop, and LPNs where assigned

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of Nebraska (pending license accepted; if not in hand at submission, start date will be booked six weeks out)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting
• Proficiency with IV drip administration
• EPIC electronic health records charting experience required
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
• Must be prepared to float frequently to various units to meet staffing needs

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center (required for first-time travelers to be considered)
• Background in Neurology, Neurosurgery, or complex neurological patient populations
• Familiarity with long-term EEG monitoring environments
