Reggio's Treehouse
Reggio's Treehouse, LLC Financial Analyst Headquarters: Lansdowne, VA | Centers across DC, VA, and NJ
This position is NOT REMOTE or HYBRID You'll work from our headquarters in Lansdowne, VA, with regular travel to our centers in DC, Virginia, and New Jersey.
Why this role We run a network of early childhood centers across DC, Virginia, and New Jersey, and we need someone who can show us where the business stands and where it's headed.
As our Financial Analyst, you'll build the systems, data, and models behind our financial planning. You'll bring together data from QuickBooks Online, ADP Workforce Now, Brightwheel, and Google Workspace and turn it into the budgets, forecasts, and reports our leadership relies on to make decisions.
This is a finance role delivered through information systems. Roughly half your time goes to designing, integrating, and validating financial and enrollment data systems. The other half goes to using those systems to produce budgets, forecasts, models, and management reporting.
You'll report directly to the President, who sets priorities, reviews your work, and meets with you at least weekly.
What you'll do Percentages are approximate and reflect a typical month. Build and run our financial systems (about 30%)
• Administer and improve our financial data environment across QuickBooks Online, ADP Workforce Now, Brightwheel, and Google Workspace.
• Design and maintain the data mappings between systems, including chart of accounts, location and class tracking, and payroll cost allocation by site.
• Build validation checks and reconciliations, such as Brightwheel tuition billing to QuickBooks deposits and ADP payroll to the general ledger.
• Spot manual processes and automate them with spreadsheet logic, scripting, or integration tools.
• Keep system documentation, a data dictionary, and written procedures current.
• Evaluate and recommend improvements or new tools for our financial and operational systems.
Plan, forecast, and model (about 30%)
• Build and maintain site-level and consolidated annual budgets.
• Maintain rolling forecasts and cash flow projections.
• Develop driver-based models that link enrollment, staffing ratios, payroll, tuition, and subsidy rates to site and company results.
• Prepare monthly budget-to-actual variance analysis, with explanations leadership can act on.
• Model scenarios for new sites, contract opportunities, tuition changes, and staffing changes.
Bring clarity to enrollment (about 20%)
• Analyze how enrollment is tracked at every center and recommend improvements.
• Design and implement a consistent enrollment database and dashboard covering capacity, waitlists, starts, withdrawals, and age-band transitions.
• Build enrollment forecasting models that feed directly into revenue forecasts and budgets.
• Report classroom capacity utilization against licensed capacity and staff-to-child ratio requirements.
Tell the story through reporting (about 15%)
• Produce the monthly management reporting package for the President.
• Build and maintain KPI dashboards, including occupancy, revenue per enrolled child, labor cost percentage, and accounts receivable aging.
• Support month-end close with reconciliations and data quality checks. • Complete ad hoc financial and operational analysis as requested.
Keep us audit ready (about 5%)
• Prepare financial data and documentation for federal contracts, subsidy programs, licensing, tax filings, and audits.
• Maintain internal controls and audit trails over financial data.
What you'll bring Required
• A bachelor's degree in information systems, Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Two or more years in financial analysis, financial systems, FP&A, or business systems analysis.
• Hands-on experience with an accounting system such as QuickBooks Online and a payroll or HRIS system such as ADP.
• Advanced spreadsheet modeling skills in Excel or Google Sheets.
• Working knowledge of accounting fundamentals, including accruals, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Skill in data analysis, data validation, and database concepts.
• The ability to document processes clearly and explain financial results to non-finance leaders.
• High accuracy and discretion with confidential payroll and family billing data.
* Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship. Nice to have
• A master's degree in management information systems, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field.
• Experience in a multi-site business, early childhood education, or a subsidy-funded organization.
• Experience automating workflows with scripting or integration tools.

Your first year We set development goals with you when you start and review them quarterly. Here's what the first year looks like: 1. Within 60 days: Learn our financial structure, chart of accounts, and site-level reporting.
2. Within 90 days: Document the current data flows between QuickBooks Online, ADP, and Brightwheel, and deliver a written improvement plan.
3. Within six months: Deliver a working enrollment dashboard and an enrollment-driven revenue forecast.
