Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric PACU RN for a Level I Trauma Center requiring 2-3 years of pediatric post-anesthesia care experience and an active DC RN license.

Details

• Work in the Pediatric PACU of a Level I Trauma Center
• Supports Phase I and Phase II PACU recovery, including pre- and post-op care
• Four 10-hour shifts Monday through Friday with varying days off, no weekends or holidays
• Variable shift start times between 6am and 11am
• No on-call requirements
• May float between NICU, PICU, and CICU to care for patients of all ages
• Every other weekend and holiday required per facility policy, with one holiday guaranteed

Requirements

• Active DC RN license required, with MD or VA compact/state license also accepted
• BLS and PALS certifications required
• 2-3 years of pediatric PACU and pre-testing experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Skilled in respiratory care, ventilated patient management, anesthesia types, conscious sedation, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
• Neurological care and ICP monitoring experience preferred
• No license or background check issues permitted

Additional Information

• Provide pre- and post-anesthesia care to pediatric patients in a high-acuity surgical setting
• Complete pre-start modules prior to orientation, within the first week of the assignment
• Missed shifts due to call-outs must be made up at the end of the contract
• Maximum RTO of one week, with no RTO permitted after the initial offer
• Returning travelers must have been separated from the facility for at least one year
• Local candidates accepted with no mileage restriction at the same bill rate
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this role
