Job Description

The Certified Surgical Technologist or LVN/LPN performs a variety of technical duties to assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients. Responsibilities include ensuring aseptic techniques, preparing patients' skin for surgery, and maintaining a sterile field throughout procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs all processes related to direct patient care in the Operating Room.
• Maintains aseptic techniques; actively monitors situations that could lead to breaches in technique.
• Establishes and maintains the sterile field, passes instruments and sutures to the physician, assisting as directed.
• Prepares the Operating Room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to the type of case.
• Works effectively as a member of the team caring for the patient and cooperates in team planning and execution.
• Implements technical and aseptic practices to maintain a safe environment.
• Demonstrates clinical expertise in the use and care of all surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of a Surgical Technology program or accredited LVN/LPN program is required.
• 2 or more years of experience preferred.
• BLS certification from AHA required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist or LVN/LPN License required.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
