Respiratory Therapist Opportunity in Houston, TX

We're hiring an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist to join a hospital-based cardiopulmonary team in Houston, TX. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate respiratory care for neonates, pediatrics, and adults as required by unit needs. The role emphasizes neonatal and pediatric critical care, delivery room support, and advanced respiratory procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science.
• Current Texas state respiratory care license in good standing.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• Minimum one year clinical experience as an RRT.
• Required certifications: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Demonstrated NICU Level 3 and pediatric critical care experience. Adult-only experience is not acceptable for this role.
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric delivery room procedures and neonatal transport equipment.
• Experience with ventilators and devices including Crossvent, Airvo, Bunnell Jet, Drager VN500, Hamilton G5, Evolve Nitric Oxide, and high-frequency oscillators.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous PICU experience.
• Additional adult critical care experience.
• Prior experience performing neonatal intubations and surfactant administration.

Assignment Details

• Shift hours: 07:00–19:00.
• Patient ratio typically 7:1 on the unit.
• Must be prepared to float to Adult ICU, Medical/Surgical floors, Level 2–4 NICU, PICU, and Pediatric units as needed.
• Time and attendance policy enforced; staff must be clocked in and ready for report by 06:37 or 18:37 as applicable.
• Weekend requirement: four weekend shifts required per four-week schedule.
