Key Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans based on ongoing assessment to optimize outcomes in a 10-bed Emergency Department setting with 2 RNs on at all times
• Perform triage, treatment, evaluation, and documentation in compliance with established guidelines, applying critical thinking and decisive judgment in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team using evidence-based practices to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and psychosocial support needs
• Assess and address barriers to effective communication based on psychosocial, literacy, financial, and cultural considerations; provide patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and condition
• Delegate patient care tasks appropriately to ancillary personnel; may precept student nurses and new hires
• Practice in accordance with professional and ethical standards as outlined in the ANA Code of Ethics and the Colorado State Nurse Practice Act

Required Qualifications

• Current and active Colorado RN license or valid Compact RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification — required upon hire or obtainable within 90 days
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification — required upon hire or obtainable within 6 months
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification — required upon hire or obtainable within 1 year
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification — required upon hire or obtainable within 1 year
• STABLE and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications — required upon hire or obtainable within 1 year
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and successfully pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Two or more years of hospital nursing experience
• One or more years of Emergency Department (ED) or Critical Care nursing experience
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field
