Position Overview

Our organization is actively looking for a full-time Transplant Hepatologist to become a part of our dedicated team at the Transplant Institute. The ideal applicant should possess board certification or be board eligible in both Transplant Hepatology and Gastroenterology.

• Manage outpatient clinic operations, focusing on general hepatology as well as pre- and post-transplant patients.
• Conduct outpatient endoscopy procedures.
• Provide inpatient services on a rotation of 1 in 4-5 weeks.
• Share night and weekend on-call duties with the Gastroenterology team, totaling approximately 5-6 weeks per year.
• Support both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities with a skilled team of Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Registered Nurses.
• Engage in teaching activities for students, residents, and fellows.
• Encourage involvement in clinical or health services research, with an average of three half-days per week allocated for this purpose.

Our liver transplant program ranks among the largest in California, performing a significant number of transplants annually. We also operate satellite clinics in Palm Springs, Murrieta, and a nearby hospital in Riverside County.

As the sole tertiary/quaternary program in the Inland Empire, we serve a combined population of over 4 million residents in Riverside and San Bernardino counties. Both the Transplant Institute clinic and the Medical Center are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. Located at the base of the mountains, the area offers numerous recreational activities, excellent educational institutions, and a lower cost of living compared to many regions in California.

Loma Linda is celebrated as the only Blue Zone in the United States, fostering a family-oriented atmosphere with a strong commitment to health and wellness. Situated in Southern California between Los Angeles and Palm Springs, this region, known as the Inland Empire, provides easy access to beaches, skiing, hiking, and various outdoor pursuits. The area boasts a low cost of living along with outstanding public and private school options. Faculty members may also qualify for federal student loan forgiveness programs.

The starting base salary for this position ranges from $340,000 to $400,000, adjusted based on experience and faculty rank. This figure does not include variable compensation or additional productivity incentives and is subject to departmental compensation plans. Further details regarding compensation will be discussed during the recruitment process.
