Senior Customer Project Manager

Compensation For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $101,600-$152,400 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive. The compensation range applies to candidates located within the United States and is determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities The position is accountable for managing complex Prefab Customer project orders to exceed customer expectations through project execution. This includes initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing of customer projects (Customer Project Process). Individual in this role confirms and manages the customer project to deliver an Integrated Package scope of work including Electrical Enclosures (e-Houses) with electrical distribution and automation control systems, HVAC and fire and gas systems, plus additional customer features and services. Manages the complete job process from order preparation through manufacturing release, product shipment, post shipment support, and financial reconciliation, utilizing a base knowledge of Schneider Electric products and processes. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Takes ownership for validating the project’s scope of work, schedule, cost, and contract terms with the customer, including risks, technical and commercial elements; serves as lead contact for the customer during project execution (Project Initiation). Develops and maintains project organization, schedule, risk register, and communicates with the customer to ensure expectations are met. Direct engagement with customer internal manufacturing facilities and third-party vendors (Project Planning). Monitors the execution of the customer’s project order, verifying execution through kick-off meetings, project schedule, communication among parties, and exchange of technical requirements and project plan information. Leads decision-making for cross-functional compromise and effectiveness. Drives risk and change management and resolves issues to improve relationships (Project Execution). Leads monitoring and control of the project performance through its lifecycle, including task completion verification, project team monitoring, and exchange of project updates. Establishes regular reports to key stakeholders and measures project performance indicators (Monitor and Control Project Work). Leads the closeout of the project, including financial reconciliation, verification of site equipment arrival, installation and start-up coordination, and training support completion. Serves as Point of Contact with the customer and coordinates with support services such as field services, after-shipment support, and training functions. Captures lessons learned and documentation approvals for future projects (Project Close). Utilizes a base knowledge of Schneider Electric products and demonstrates understanding of fundamental knowledge, processes, and terminology needed for effective project management. Qualifications Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Strong leadership skills including team leading, employee mentoring and development, and the ability to empower others through delegation. Strong interpersonal skills with a desire to work in a team environment. Proven organizational and time/project management skills. Advanced understanding of project management and project finance. Ability to build and maintain technical and commercial awareness. Ability to define and implement short and medium term action plans to increase customer satisfaction while improving business growth and efficiency. Strong organization, planning and customer service skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Project, and Excel. Results-oriented with critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Influence and convincing skills and the ability to escalate appropriately when arbitration is required. Foster cooperation and people motivation in a multi-cultural environment; conflict management and stress tolerance; adaptability. Education Four-year degree required. BS degree in an Engineering discipline preferred. PMP (PMI), CPMP/CPMA SE Internal Certification preferred. Experience Five to eight years of experience managing projects/programs. Understanding of systems integration, HVAC or other building or electronic control systems is a plus. Schneider Electric products and Electrical Enclosure integration knowledge is a plus.
