Watts & Associates is working discreetly with a highly regarded Am Law 100 international firm with recognized transactional strength and a sophisticated funds platform seeking a junior partner level Fund Formation and Secondaries Attorney to join its New York office on a hybrid basis.

The Role

• Lead and execute sponsor side fund formation and secondaries mandates within a growing US funds platform
• Work directly with private fund sponsors and financial institutions on complex, high value fund structures and transactions
• Draft and negotiate fund documentation, side letters and advisory materials, leveraging integrated global support where appropriate
• Serve as a trusted adviser to sponsors, contributing commercial input on fund terms, market practice and investor dynamics
• Partner closely with senior colleagues to deepen client relationships, originate work and expand the US sponsor base

Ideal Candidate Profile

The firm is seeking a junior partner level Fund Formation and Secondaries Attorney with:

• Approximately 8 plus years PQE in private fund formation and or secondaries work at a leading firm
• Strong sponsor side experience, including direct interaction with fund managers and sophisticated institutional investors
• Admission to the New York Bar or clear eligibility to waive into New York
• Strong academic credentials from a law school ranked within the top 50
• Willingness to be in the New York office 4 days per week, within a 90 minute commute
• $400,000 to $700,000 base salary, depending on experience and business case
