We are seeking a dedicated Convenience Store Clerk for the Stafford location to provide exceptional customer service and promote cohesiveness among employees. The role involves effectively communicating with customers and team members, operating food preparation equipment, processing transactions, maintaining inventory, and ensuring a clean and safe store environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service by managing difficult or emotional situations, responding promptly to customer needs, resolving questions, complaints, and concerns immediately, and meeting commitments

• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of services and products

• Safely operate food preparation equipment and process food orders

• Accurately and efficiently process POS transactions

• Maintain inventory by unloading and stocking products

• Accurately maintain operations records, including shift reports and vendor check-in reports

• Monitor store facilities, equipment, and grounds; continuously perform various housekeeping/cleaning responsibilities both internally and externally

• Work independently and as a team

• Effectively communicate by verbal and written means with customers, employees, and management

• Maintain and promote safety awareness; follow safety policies, procedures, and reporting requirements

• Comply with all state and federal laws, codes, and regulations

• Present a clean and professional appearance

• Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

• Proficient computer operation skills

• Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

• Ability to deal with problems with several concrete variables in standard situations

• Must be able to think quickly and perform a mental assessment of workplace hazards, take appropriate precautions, and choose appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as dictated by need, regulation, and labeling

Physical Demands:

• Regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; taste or smell; stand for long periods of time; walk; carry; climb or balance

• Regularly work with inventory and regularly required to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 65 pounds

• Regularly climb ladders and stairs

• Occasionally required to sit

• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Work Environment:

• Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold up to 20 minutes at a time, and extreme heat; toxic or caustic chemicals; and vibration

• Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; risk of electrical shock and explosives

• Noise level is usually loud
