Utilization Review Nurse Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule Day shift, 5x8-hour schedule from 08:00 to 16:30 PST. Job Description The Utilization Review Nurse will perform comprehensive reviews of medical necessity and ensure compliance with guidelines. This position focuses on both adult and pediatric patient care, utilizing experience in acute hospital settings and proficiency in Epic and InterQual criteria. Responsibilities Conduct utilization review in accordance with established guidelines. Employ InterQual criteria to assess medical necessity and appropriateness of care. Ensure compliance with Medicare regulations, including CC44s and ABNs. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans. Document findings and communicate effectively with clinical and administrative staff. Maintain accurate records in the Epic charting system. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Registered Nurse (RN) license in California is required. Minimum of 3 years of recent acute hospital utilization management experience.
