Job Summary Under minimal supervision, provides nursing care for a group of patients assigned to the nurse based on matching the patients’ needs with the nurse’s competencies. Completes established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree. Minimum Experience None for Med/Surg and Behavioral Health. One year in acute/chronic dialysis for Dialysis. Preferred Experience Two years in acute care for Med/Surg. Two years in a psychiatric facility for Behavioral Health. Two years acute/chronic dialysis for Dialysis. Required Certifications / Licensure Possession of a current Texas State License for Registered Nurse. For RN in Behavioral Health: Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer into the department. Preferred Certifications / Licensure Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire. Dialysis Department: In addition to Basic Life Support, ACLS (AHA) must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into the unit. Behavioral Health Unit: Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role.
