Holy Disciples School in Oakville, CT, is searching for a dynamic and highly qualified full-time Kindergarten teacher for its school established and maintained in the Catholic educational tradition. The candidate should be competent at instructing Kindergarten students and be able to assist students who may need additional support.

Faith Formation & Community

• Model Catholic Values: Maintain a classroom atmosphere rooted in the Gospel message that promotes mutual respect, kindness, and charity.
• Spiritual Leadership: Lead students in daily prayer, participate in school liturgies, and support the campus ministry and service-learning initiatives.

Instructional Design & Classroom Management

• Curriculum Development: Design and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with diocesan standards
• Differentiated Instruction: Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse learning needs, styles, and accommodation plans of Kindergarten students.

Classroom Culture: Establish clear expectations, routines, and positive reinforcement strategies to maintain a structured, safe, and productive learning environment.

Assessment & Communication

• Student Evaluation: Utilize both formative and summative assessments to measure student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
• Parent Engagement: Maintain regular, professional communication with parents and guardians regarding student academic progress and behavioral growth via the school portal, email, and conferences.
• Collaboration: Work closely with middle school team members, professional learning communities (PLCs), and administration to support student success and school-wide initiatives.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree and Teaching Certification required.


Experience in Catholic or Private Schools is desirable.

An enthusiasm for young people and Catholic education.

A practicing Catholic in good standing is preferred, with a deep commitment to the mission of Catholic education.

Able to work with school technology (e.g.: use of academic software, Microsoft Office, Excel, etc.).

Effective communicator both oral and written who is a well-organized professional with great attention to details.
