HVAC Truck Based Journeymen Mechanic (union)

What you will do Johnson Controls Inc. is looking for forward‑thinking talent to join our organization to support the fast‑growing HVAC business in North America. You will work on light commercial and/or heavy commercial teams with the most advanced heavy commercial and cutting‑edge industrial equipment. Your role involves performing maintenance, repair and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems, and providing highly efficient solutions to our customers. How you will do it You will work independently or partner with Journeymen to repair centrifugal, steam turbines, and open‑drive screw chillers. You'll perform troubleshooting, repair, and aftermarket services for commercial HVACR service. You will provide quotes, recommendations, and solutions to customers during commissioning and aftermarket service, ensuring efficient operation and upselling opportunities. You will also maintain tools, uniforms, and a company vehicle to serve customers to the highest standard. What we look for Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL‑CIO. Minimum of three (3) years of commercial and/or industrial mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry, including rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors, and plumbing. Experience with mechanical shaft alignment using dial indicators and vibration equipment to troubleshoot drives. Eligible to travel 10% to 20% to support branch customers. Pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiency. Universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing, and valid driver’s license.
