DescriptionSAIC is seeking an Aircraft Certification Subject Matter Expert (SME). The successful candidate will serve as the primary liaison between our FAA customer and internal program team to facilitate communications and mutual understanding of Aircraft Certification Service (AIR) business processes and information sources. You will apply your knowledge and experience of aircraft certification policies, processes, and stakeholders to support the customer in effectively identifying, managing and executing organizational processes and working with internal team to ensure alignment of technical solutions to customers’ needs. Responsibilities include understanding AIR business processes and workflow, maintaining awareness of applicable policies, and identifying opportunities for improving AIR organizational operations. This opportunity is contingent upon award. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in related field and 14 years or more of related experience. Minimum of 10 years of related experience with the aircraft certification process and working knowledge of applicable policies, including FAA Orders 8110.4 -Type Certification, 8100.5 - Aircraft Certification Service Organizational Structures and Functions, 8130.2 – Airworthiness Certification of Aircraft, Organization Designation Authorization, and Title 14 CFR Parts 21, 43 and 91Ability to provide expertise on continuous process improvement strategies, organizational redesign, change management projects, and performance measures for basic business process engagements. Ability to analyze business processes: current state analysis, gap analysis, benchmarking, best practices identification, organizational assessment, and other related tasks. Provides expertise and guidance in interpreting policies, regulatory and/or governmental regulations, and agency guidelines to assure compliance. Coordinate with technology teams, ascertaining system requirements, such as program functions, output requirements, input data acquisition, and system techniques and controls. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.Ability to satisfy FAA resume and security approval processesJob Field: Information TechnologyTravel: Yes, 10 % of the Time
