Histotechnician

Job Summary Under supervision will function as a technician mainly in Histology and may rotate in other areas of the laboratory performing patient care testing as needed. Perform duties that may include running various laboratory instrumentation, performing manual testing, specimen receiving and processing, computer related duties such as patient entry, test request entry/requisition format, quality control, reagent preparation, following general laboratory and safety procedures including universal precautions and chemical and biochemical hazard precautions. Minimum Qualifications NYS license/registration or limited permit to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Histo Technician, Clinical lab Technician. Candidates with less than 2 years clinical lab experience or with a NYS license/registration or limited permit to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technician will be considered for appointment to a commensurate title and salary. Must be able to distinguish colors for the purposes of performing laboratory tests.
