Registered Nurse Pre-Op / Phase II Recovery
Title: Registered Nurse Pre-Op / Phase II Recovery
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, PALS
- Additional certification: ACLS
- Pediatric exposure: ~34%
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-op assessments for surgical and endoscopy cases.
- Provide Phase II recovery care and discharge teaching.
- Assist with conscious sedation and IV starts.
- Administer respiratory support including breathing treatments and CPAP/BiPAP.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the recovery process.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care.
Compliance / Notes:
- Float required between Pre-Op and PACU.
- References required: 2 covering the last year; can include Charge RNs/Leads.
- Onboarding modules: Average 16 hours completed pre-start (non-billable).
